The site team at the Axholme North Leisure Centre project has been inspiring the next generation of construction talent by welcoming Andrew, a Year 10 work experience student from The Axholme Academy to experience life on-site.

Andrew gained a variety of new skills during his time with the team including understanding how site works progress against the programme and the integration of trades. He spent time reading construction status drawings, checking the locker units and ensuring that the correct configurations were distributed to the correct rooms and most importantly, learnt how to make the correct strength builders’ brew!

Andrew Fear, Project Manager said, “It was an absolute pleasure to have Andrew join our team and it was extremely rewarding for the site team to see his confidence grow throughout the week.”

Our Project Manager Andrew has also taken part in assemblies at The Axholme Academy in North Lincolnshire earlier this year, as part of the work we are carrying out to build the Axholme North Sports Centre.

Students were shown a video update on how work is progressing onsite and Andrew also talked about the exciting and diverse career opportunities that construction offers.

Built on The Axholme Academy site, for our client North Lincolnshire Council, The Sports Centre will feature a 25 metre swimming pool, a gym, dance studio, tennis courts and floodlit and artificial grass pitch.
