Pete – Our Site Angel
Our mission ‘to move to a new site’, Mount Primary would be ‘top dog’.
We could have Weatherheads old site, and Fairclough’s were doing the job,
The Architects drew up the plans, and at Easter the work started well,
If we had any problems or queries, Fairclough’s man Pete was the one we should tell.

We thought ‘who’s this Pete Isted bloke, and what the heck does he know’,
‘he just sits in his hut and drinks tea, watching real workmen come and go’,
We didn’t think he could do anything, to change what we wanted on site,
But still we thought we’d give him a try, we’ll see if he’s coping alright.

We couldn’t have wished for a nicer bloke, all smiles from the first day we met, None of this ‘Get off my site love’, ‘I’ll sort it out’ he said ‘don’t you fret’,
He didn’t get all site possessive, he shared everything with all the staff,
he welcomes our many site visits, and always gave us a laugh.

Through cautious of Health & Safety, he didn’t mind 3 inch high heels,
He leant us his hard hats when needed, and cemented some added on deals,
He continually kept us updated and worked hard at achieving our aim,
He cared what happened at our school, and not for fortune or fame.

So Pete we all want to thank you, you’ve made a difference, and opened our minds,
You’ve taught us that contractors are human, not to judge on historical finds,
You’ve made hell days a pleasure to live through, the pleasures been working with you...
…. So thank you from all the staff and pupils, for making our dream of moving come true.
