Dawn Waldron
Training Manager
Dawn has been with Harry Fairclough for some 11 years and during her time as Training Manager has become considered as almost a ‘second mum’ to the many apprentices that have been in her care. Her determination, hard-work and nurturing attitude has encouraged countless young local people to qualify in a variety of trades and go on to progress their careers at Harry Fairclough. Currently, 11 joiners and 4 bricklayers who started out as Dawn’s apprentices have gainful employment at Fairclough. And, a little further up the career ladder, so have 1
Chargehand, 2 Project Managers and 3 Site Managers.
Harry Fairclough was a man who believed in giving people the opportunity to show their worth and although there are certain entry requirements for our training programme, we’re always open to give keen, willing young people a chance. Dawn has recruited numerous apprentices from those young people who other employers consider the hardest to re-engage in learning and training - one of which went on to win the Most Improved Apprentice of the year at college.
In recent years, four other apprentices have won awards and two have gained the top Outstanding Achievement Award. And all have been under Dawn’s guidance.
