NEWS RELEASE: APPRENTICES IN LIMELIGHT

20/08/2010

Harry Fairclough apprentice Simon Blackwell has secured Warrington Collegiate's prestigious ‘Elliot Award for Progress in Construction & Technology 2010'.  The award is traditionally presented to the outstanding student completing any of the college's Construction and Technology apprentice programmes in the academic year.  In 2009 the award was won by another Harry Fairclough apprentice Brian Marshall-Heath.

As well as being nominated for this award Simon, along with Ryan Doyle, was also selected to represent Warrington Collegiate at the regional heats of the ConstructionSkills Skillbuild competition held in Blackpool.  Ryan for his part also secured Harry Fairclough's Apprentice of the Year prize at its 2010 award ceremony.

Dawn Waldron, Training Manager comments;

"We are very proud of all our apprentices but we are particularly pleased for Simon and Ryan that their outstanding efforts in the year have been appropriately recognised.  It is important that the hard work, talent and dedication of our young achievers is rewarded and acknowledged as they embark upon the next stage of their career"
