Virginia McNamara
Plant Manager
Married, with 2 grown up children, local girl Virginia has been with Harry Faiclough for almost 20 years. She first joined us as an assistant to the then Plant & Transport Manager, Charlie Herriman, and did such a good job that when he retired in 2001, we quickly promoted her to Plant Manager! Of course, looking after our own and helping them to reach their full potential is something we do day in, day out at Harry Fairclough so we were more than pleased to support Virginia in her career progression.
Since that initial promotion, she undertook the necessary training to attain the Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage, which she passed with flying colours in 2007. Virginia does a grand job of keeping on top of all our transport operational needs, deals with on- and off-hiring various items of plant for the various contracts, assists the Estimating Department and ensures our scheduled maintenance system is kept up-to-date. In short, she keeps us all in check and we wouldn’t know what we’d do without her! Virginia’s son, Niall, trained as a joiner with us - continuing the fine company tradition of keeping it in the family.
