Harry Fairclough Construction apprentice, Jordan Ireland, recently represented Riverside College in the prestigious Senior Guild of Bricklayers Competition at City of Liverpool College where he was awarded with the Senior Champion award. Jordan has now been invited to take part in the Guild of Bricklayers National Finals in June.

Doubling his success just a few weeks later, Jordan also won a gold medal at the SkillBuild North West bricklaying competition where he was up against other bricklaying students from colleges across the North West. Star pupil Jordan’s performance was described as ‘outstanding, demonstrating a high level of skill and precision’ and ended with him taking home the gold medal and a place in the SkillBuild National Finals in November with potentially a position on Team UK at WorldSkills UK.

Dawn Waldron, apprenticeship co-ordinator at Harry Fairclough comments: “Jordan started his employment with Harry Fairclough in June 2016 and with both these achievements under his belt, we believe that his professional career within the construction industry will continue to flourish.”
