“I began my career in construction as a site engineer before moving into a site manager and project manager role at Harry Fairclough. I gained valuable experience at the company and in the industry before working abroad as a contracts manager. My experience in the rail division, and specifically leading the renewals arm of a business on large design and build frameworks including bridge reconstructions, earthworks, drainage and station refurbishment has given me wide ranging experience and specific expertise in delivering a variety of civils projects.
I was excited to return to Harry Fairclough for the opportunity to lead the civils division and play a role in the growth of the business. It felt like the right time for me to face a new challenge and after meeting the senior team, I felt at home with their professional outlook and could see we had shared values in the way we worked. I already knew the ethos of the company was welcoming and encouraged a good work life balance.
In the time I’ve been away from the business there have been positive changes; the family feel, and strong values have been retained and the ambitious future goals are clearly defined and articulated to the whole team. I feel very settled here already, with lots of familiar faces that have been supported and developed into senior roles within the business. My plans for the civils division involves steady growth and diversification and I look forward to playing my role in the future success of the business.”
