“I am currently studying for a degree apprenticeship scheme studying Construction Management at Liverpool John Moores University. I was advised by a trusted contact within the industry that Harry Fairclough is a successful and evolving firm and after researching the business, it looked to be a dynamic and welcoming place to work. I applied to join the team as a degree apprentice to gain valuable on the job experience whilst completing my studies.
After being accepted on the apprenticeship scheme I have immediately been made to feel part of the team. At this stage I feel that Quantity Surveying will be best suited to my skill set but I’m pleased to have the opportunity over the coming months to spend time in the different areas of the business to gain a better understanding of all aspects of the business and industry.
I’m really enjoying learning and putting theory into practice onsite. My first project involved working on a project at Tatton House in Wythensure for Trafford Borough Council and Ive also had the opportunity to work on a project at the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University. I have spent time in the estimating department and I’m already experiencing a diverse range of projects and skills, working alongside a highly experienced and knowledgeable team.
I am currently on site at Chipping Homes, a residential project in Preston assisting the site Engineer with various on site tasks. I am enjoying working with different divisions of the business and am looking forward to continuing to develop my role within the HF team.”Our People
